Alumna Marisa Kozlowski named new editor-in-chief of the journal Organic Letters

The Publications Division of the American Chemical Society has announced Professor Marisa C. Kozlowski, (Ph.D.‘94, Chem) of the University of Pennsylvania as the new editor-in-chief of the journal Organic Letters.

“Organic chemistry has never been so thrilling, with continual new discoveries in reactivity and structure that have impacts on so many fields of science that are important to our society,” Kozlowski said.

Kozlowski is known for her groundbreaking research in the design of asymmetric catalysts and the development of new methods for oxidative carbon-carbon, carbon-oxygen and carbon-nitrogen bond-forming reactions in asymmetric synthesis.

“I’m looking forward to working with Professor Kozlowski and watching how her vision shapes Organic Letters,” says James Milne, Ph.D., president, ACS Publications Division. “I am confident that she will lead the journal to even greater heights in the coming years.”
